DEARLORIA · PRIVACY & CARE
Privacy Policy
Personal details deserve thoughtful care.
Last updated: October 18, 2026
About this policy
DearLoria, operated by LUMINFEST INC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), offers personalized pet products at dearloria.com. This policy explains how personal information is collected, used, shared, and retained when you browse our store, place an order, submit customization materials, or contact us.
Our store is hosted on Shopify. For the processing we determine and control, LUMINFEST INC is the data controller. This Privacy Policy takes priority over our Terms of Service on questions about the processing of personal information.
1. Information we collect
Personal information is information that identifies you or can reasonably be connected to you. The information processed depends on how you use the store and which features you choose:
- Contact and order details: your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery addresses, order details, purchases, returns, exchanges, and cancellations.
- Payment information: information needed to process a payment, payment status, transaction references, and related records. Shopify and payment providers process payment details; the information available to us depends on the payment method and provider.
- Personalization materials: pet photos, pet names, custom text, design preferences, artwork, and other files or instructions submitted for your order. Photos may also show people, surroundings, or other identifying details.
- Account and communication details: account identifiers and preferences, where you create an account, and messages, attachments, feedback, or other information you send to us.
- Device and browsing information: IP address, browser and device information, identifiers, pages visited, cart activity, and interactions with the store, collected through the platform, cookies, or similar technologies as applicable.
2. Where information comes from
We receive information directly from you when you browse, order, upload files, or communicate with us; automatically through the store and technologies it uses; and from providers supporting payments, order fulfillment, delivery, and other store services. Where additional features are used, information may also come from the partners involved in those features.
3. Your pet photos & custom designs
We use photos and customization materials submitted for an order only to create your personalized product, fulfill that order, and provide related after-sales support. This includes preparing artwork or production files, discussing your instructions, and resolving a problem with the finished product.
We do not use these order uploads for public display, advertising, or unrelated marketing. Submitting a photo for an order does not give us permission to publish it. This limitation also applies to the license for order materials in our Terms of Service. Retention or disclosure required by law, or necessary to resolve a dispute about your order, is not prevented by this limitation.
Order materials may need to be shared with design, production, storage, or fulfillment providers involved in completing or supporting your order. Please submit only materials you are entitled to use and avoid including unnecessary personal or sensitive information.
4. How we use information
- Provide the services: accept and process orders and payments, prepare personalized products, arrange delivery, send order updates, and handle returns, exchanges, refunds, and support.
- Operate and improve the store: maintain accounts and preferences where applicable, understand how the store is used, and improve its performance and customer experience.
- Protect the store and customers: identify suspicious activity, prevent fraud and misuse, troubleshoot problems, and protect rights and security.
- Marketing, where offered: send promotional communications or provide relevant advertising, subject to applicable law and your choices. Order photos and customization materials are excluded from these uses.
- Meet legal obligations: maintain required records, respond to valid legal requests, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Where UK or EEA data protection rules apply, we rely on performance of a contract for orders, customization, and related support; legal obligations for required records and legal requests; and our legitimate interests in running, securing, and improving the store where those interests are not overridden by your rights. Where consent is required, including for certain cookies or marketing, consent is the relevant basis. You may withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing.
5. Sharing information
Information may be shared with Shopify and providers involved in hosting, payments, technical support, storage, design and production, shipping, customer service, or analytics, as relevant to the services they provide. Where marketing or advertising features are used, the relevant partners may receive information for those purposes, subject to applicable requirements and your choices.
We may also disclose information at your direction, when legally required, to protect rights or respond to disputes, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or sale, subject to applicable law.
The limits on use of your order photos and customization materials in Section 3 continue to apply. Those materials are not included in advertising or marketing disclosures.
6. Shopify & other providers
Shopify processes information associated with your use of our store to provide its commerce platform and related services. Information may be processed by Shopify and its providers in countries other than your own.
If Shopify Network Intelligence or other enhanced Shopify features are enabled for this store, Shopify may also use information about interactions with our store, other merchants, and Shopify to provide those features, including personalization and advertising. Shopify is responsible for certain processing it carries out for its own purposes and for the related privacy requests.
Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy or visit the Shopify Privacy Portal for details and available choices. Other independent providers’ privacy notices apply to their own services.
7. Cookies & communication choices
Cookies and similar technologies can support essential store functions, remember preferences, and, where enabled, support analytics or advertising. Where cookie or privacy controls are displayed on the store, you can use them to manage the choices offered. Browser settings may also let you remove or block cookies, although some store features may then work differently.
Where optional marketing communications are offered, you can stop receiving them through an available unsubscribe option or by emailing us. We may still send messages needed for an order, refund, account, or other service request.
Depending on where you live and the processing involved, you may have rights to opt out of targeted advertising or disclosures defined as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. Contact help@dearloria.com to exercise applicable rights, or use the privacy choices provided on the store.
8. Security & retention
No website, transmission method, or storage system can guarantee complete security. Please keep your account credentials private and do not email complete payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information.
How long information is retained depends on its purpose: completing an order, providing after-sales support, maintaining an account, keeping legally required records, or resolving a dispute. Different categories of information may therefore be retained for different periods.
For order photos and production files, retention is assessed against the needs of making, fulfilling, and supporting the order, together with any applicable recordkeeping or dispute obligations. You may contact us to request deletion; some information may need to be retained where the law permits or requires it.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be able to request access to information we hold about you, correction, deletion, a portable copy, restriction of processing, or an objection to certain processing. You may also have rights to withdraw consent or opt out of particular advertising-related uses.
Email help@dearloria.com with your request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority. Please do not send sensitive identification documents unless we explain why they are needed.
We will respond within the time required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights. Rights are subject to legal limits and exceptions. If you disagree with our response, you may contact us to request a review or appeal where that right applies.
10. International processing
Your information may be transferred to, stored in, or processed in countries outside your country of residence. Where UK or EEA transfer rules apply, transfers must have an applicable legal basis, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
11. Children & third-party websites
Our store is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us without appropriate authorization, please contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.
Links to other websites are provided for convenience. Their operators control their own privacy practices. Information you choose to post publicly, including public reviews or social media posts, may be visible to others; this does not change our separate limits on the use of private order uploads.
12. Updates, questions & complaints
We may revise this policy when our practices or legal requirements change. The revised version and its updated date will be posted here, with any additional notice required by law.
Please contact us about any privacy question or concern. Depending on your location, you may also complain to your local data protection authority. You can find EEA authorities in the European Data Protection Board’s directory and UK guidance through the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Your privacy, your voice.
